CLIENT CARE

Jewellery Care & Cleaning

Fine jewellery is made to be worn. A little considered care will help preserve its finish, settings and brilliance.

Everyday care

Fine jewellery is designed to be worn, but it will naturally collect oils, cosmetics and everyday residue. Put jewellery on after fragrance, skincare and make-up where possible, and remove it before swimming, strenuous exercise or using household chemicals.

Store pieces separately when they are not being worn so that diamonds and metal surfaces do not rub against one another.

Cleaning diamonds

For routine cleaning at home, use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild washing-up liquid and a very soft brush. Gently clean around the setting and underneath the diamond, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Avoid abrasive cleaners and improvised chemical solutions. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning are not suitable for every piece or setting, so ask us before using them.

Gold and platinum

Precious metals develop fine surface marks with wear. This is normal and becomes part of the character of a piece. Polishing can restore a brighter finish, but because polishing removes a minute amount of metal it should be done thoughtfully rather than too frequently.

Settings and professional care

Rings worn every day should be inspected periodically, particularly pieces with raised or fine diamond settings. If a stone moves, a claw catches, or a piece receives a significant knock, stop wearing it and have it checked before further use.
